BILL WISCH’S CLASS ON CARD SLEIGHTS- COURSE OUTLINE

8 WEEKS OF CLASSES, TUESDAYS, 7:30-9 PM STARTING SEPT 25

In this workshop there will be no “finger-flinging” flourishes included. The natural looking, sleight of hand techniques that you will learn, during the eight sessions, are all designed to eliminate suspicion and enable you to mystify, and artistically deceive your spectators, leaving no possible clue of explanation.

Simple mystification is the main reason why the study of sleight of hand is so rewarding. Your cards...your hands...your audience—magic in its simplest and most artistic form. A deck of cards — 4.96 cu. inches of glue, paper and ink.

The 3 secrets of learning highly effective and efficient card sleights:

1) determine what sleights you need and want.

2) implement the steps needed to develop and learn those sleights.

3) follow the steps.

There will be many playing card sleights discussed, and demonstrated, in this eight week session, but those listed below are what I consider the master tools…a card sleights toolbox.

WEEKLY SYLLABUS:*

1) Holding & Lifting-Dealing Position/Breaks, etc.

2) Cutting-Double/False, etc.

3) Controlling-Peek/Double Cut, etc.

4) Changing-Kelly Master Move/Glide, etc.
